Companies House report

A single PDF document that gathers the main sections of a company's public register entry — details, officers, persons with significant control, filings and charges — into one file you can download, print, email and keep. Searching this site stays free; the report is optional.

Free to search. Company Search UK is an independent service and is not Companies House or part of the UK Government.

What the PDF report includes

  • Everything in the free company summary
  • Current and former officers, with appointment and resignation dates where recorded
  • Persons with significant control recorded on the register
  • Accounts and confirmation statement dates and filing position
  • Registered charges, and whether they are outstanding or satisfied
  • Insolvency information where it exists
  • A filing history summary
  • A formatted A4 PDF you can download, print, email and keep

What you get for free, and what the report adds

The free company summary on this site covers identity and registration: name, number, status, incorporation date, type, jurisdiction, registered office, previous names and SIC codes. That is enough to confirm you are dealing with the entity you think you are.

The report goes wider and turns it into a document. It adds the people behind the company, the filing position, any registered charges and insolvency information, then presents everything on dated A4 pages with the company name, number and retrieval timestamp on every page.

Why people order a document rather than reading the register

The public register is spread across separate sections and pages. Pulling it together, formatting it and dating it takes time, and a browser page is awkward to attach to an email or file with a client record.

The paid report exists for convenience: it collects the sections in one place, presents them consistently, records the exact date and time the data was retrieved and gives you a document you can archive. It is not extra data that is hidden from you elsewhere — the same public information is available from Companies House at no charge.

  • Attaching company details to a tender, application or onboarding pack
  • Filing a dated snapshot of the register alongside a contract
  • Sending company information to a colleague, client, accountant or solicitor
  • Keeping a record of how a company looked on the day you dealt with it

How ordering works

  • Search for the company and open its free summary
  • Check the name and registration number carefully
  • Order the report and pay securely by card
  • The PDF is generated automatically from a fresh retrieval, usually within a minute
  • Download it from the confirmation page and keep the file

What the report is not

  • Not an official or certified Companies House document
  • Not a credit report, credit score or creditworthiness assessment
  • Not an AML, KYC or identity verification check
  • Not professional due diligence, and not legal, financial or accounting advice
  • Not a statement that a company is solvent, trustworthy or safe to trade with

Free website search compared with the paid PDF report

Searching this site and viewing a company summary is free. The optional PDF report is paid, and what you are paying for is convenience: retrieval, formatting, a dated snapshot and a document you can download and keep. The underlying information is public and is also available directly from Companies House at no charge.
