How the document is presented
Reports are produced as a clean A4 PDF with a cover page, clearly separated sections and consistent typography. Every page carries the company name, company registration number, your order reference and the date and time the data was retrieved.
That matters more than it sounds. A screenshot of a web page is easy to dispute and hard to file; a dated document that states its own source and retrieval time stands on its own when it is forwarded to a colleague, client or adviser months later.
Where the information comes from
Every figure and name in the report comes from the Companies House public register, retrieved through the official public data service at the moment your order is processed. No third-party scores, estimates or enrichment are added.
Company Search UK is an independent service and is not Companies House, part of the UK Government, or affiliated with or endorsed by either. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
When a PDF is worth it
- You need to attach company details to an email, tender or application
- You want a dated snapshot of the register for your own records
- You are handing information to a colleague, client or adviser
- You want everything in one document rather than several screens
- You need the officer and ownership sections, which are not in the free summary
When it is not worth it
If you only need to confirm that a company exists, check its status or copy its registered office address, the free summary on this site already gives you that, and so does Companies House directly. Do not pay for a document you do not need.
It is also the wrong product if you are trying to assess credit risk, verify someone's identity, or satisfy a regulated anti-money-laundering obligation. The report contains public register information only.
Delivery and access
The report is generated immediately after payment and downloaded from your order confirmation page. Keep the file once you have it — it is yours to store, print and forward. If anything goes wrong with generation or delivery, contact us with your order reference and we will resolve it.

Searching this site and viewing a company summary is free. The optional PDF report is paid, and what you are paying for is convenience: retrieval, formatting, a dated snapshot and a document you can download and keep. The underlying information is public and is also available directly from Companies House at no charge.
